University of Copenhagen

1st Brain and Mind  lecture

April 13th, 2005

Marcus Raichle

"The brain's dark energy"

Host Martin Lauritzen & Marcus Raichle

The lecture was given in the Alexander Hall at Frue Plads,
the site of both Copenhagen Cathedral and the original main university buildings

Some know Marc Raichle from his popular book (with Michael Posner) "Images of mind" published by Scientific American Library in 1994. It is an excellent introduction to cognitive neuroimaging

-- others from his landmark PET-study with Petersen & others from 1988 introducing the  cognitive subtraction technique in PET imaging

This image from his book has become a standard illustration of positron emission tomography (PET) subtraction and averaging

-- and still others from other major studies and reviews

Many of his publications are in fulltext in pdf in his CV at ../labs/raichle/
